Best ways to deal with stress without using food to soothe?

Great list! I also do some of those. In addition, I use a thought like this...ok, what do you want more? To be healthy or to eat this? How will eating this change the situation? That usually stops me in my tracks. Then sometimes if I'm feeling particularly rebellious I have to add that I didn't get my guts cut up & rearranged just to go back to this type of behaviour! :)

Great reminders to use when in a stressful situation for sure.  I find often when I think I am hungry I am actually satisfied with a drink, so I try to remind myself to try a drink first if I am hungry at a strange time.

I have a long bath then paint my nails! LOL!! Cant do much without ruining them afterwards :)

What is it about caring for your feet that feels so awesome?  I hear you about it not lasting but boy does it make you feel good. A few weeks after surgery I could not do my own feet yet so I had a pedicure done at my favourite spa. It was well worth the money in that situation but usually I do it at home myself.  I have a whole foot care basket set aside for that purpose.
