Brown Rice
Never.

Sparingly. Maybe once a month. And always brown rice (not white). And in small quantities -- like one-third of a cup. With lots of protein -- and protein first alway. Often don't even finish the rice part once I factor in any veggies.
Same with pasta: wholewheat, maybe once a month, and in small quantities...maybe half a cup with lots of protein. Again, usually don't finish all the pasta.
For me, it's nice to have a few bites occasionally.

I pretty much never eat rice. I do think whole grain brown rice is a better choice than white rice, but it is not giving you much in the nutrition department either way. Last night my hubby made stuffed peppers and we subbed in extra veggies for the rice (made with ground turkey) - delish, lower carb and never even missed the rice.
