I would think you could add them at the end if six weeks. For me they are a convenient source if protein on the go away from home. They easily fit in a purse or in the car when you need a snack.
CENTURY CLUB MEMBER at 6 months post-op.

Guelph encourages folks to get protein from "real" food. But I know many people need to supplement with shakes and bars.
protein bars I believe shouldn't be used until at least month 4-6 post-op, the buts and contents can cause irritation and provide you with all kinds of problems. It is better to stick to your eating plan and follow it as best as you can..damage to your pouch or new re-routed innards is not something you want to "test"
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

Thanks. I don't plan to even buy any until the summer and then only for bike rides at the cottage with my husband. When I am fit enough we go for very long bike rides and having a handy and healthy bar will help keep me on track when we stop along the way. I was really just interested in knowing if it is something that is generally recommended RNY or if that was an individual modification. THanks for the answers.
