Title says it all.  What do you use?

I'm looking for something natural to try.

On a previous post, someone said the flax seed helps with perimenopausal crap.  But I am hoping to find something natural to help with everyday constipation and the joys of perimenopausal symptoms.

What do you use?

Just was in to Guelph to see the nurse and nutritionist this morning as follow up to my surgery Jan 27. Constipation was a topic of conversation and the nutritionist recommended 1-3 tsp of ground flax seed on oatmeal etc to help. She said some people get caught up in using too many of these seeds (she mentioned chia seeds in particular) but that too much can lead to weight gain).

I can't comment on the effectiveness for your other symptoms but hopefully this answers at least part of your issue.

Btw...she also mentioned to refrigerate to keep them fresh. Good luck! Kim

Oh awesome...thanks for your response.

I went out tonight and found some ground flax seed at Walmart for $3.

I am having 1 tbsp with some yogurt right now and it is not too bad at all.  Let's see what the overall effectiveness is soon.

Thanks also for the tip about refrigerating them.

My clinic recommended chia (they said I needed more fat... bah!) but I really don't like it.

I have done both chia and flax, and I prefer the flax. My personal opinion of course. So when I finish the ground chia seeds that I bought from bulk barn, I'll switch and go with ground flax.

I dislike taking 'extra' things, so if you eat bread, they have a flax AND chia seed bread at Costco. I only have a slice every day or every other day, so probably not enough to help with menopause crap.
