Evening Cravings
My biggest problem before surgery was eating all the stuff you should not eat before bed, after supper. I am finding I do well all day long and then once it is evening I am looking for snacks. I am almost three months out and know this is terrible behavior. What are some of the go to snacks that are good for me that you have. Going to try to get away from having to have anything is my goal. Habits are hard to break but determined to break this one. Other than this small patch of the day I feel great
I just saw my Nutritionist yesterday and she suggested Greek Yogurt before bed with some Bran Buds (fibre) and blueberries mixed in.

For me, evening snacking was huge so I had to completely cut it out. I ate dinner between 6 and 7 and then nothing else til the next morning. I'd clean up and then it was time to be able to drink again so I'd make a pot of herbal tea or decaf coffee and only drink that the rest of the evening. Even now almost 10 years later, if I start snacking at night, even on healthy stuff, it's a slippery slope. If I do eat anything, it's usually a protein shake or a SF jello or greek yogurt but for the most part I try to avoid it as it's usually not real hunger but head hunger.

some people would disagree , but I would pop (on the stove) a large bowl of popcorn on a Sunday night and portion myself out a soup bowl almost every night.
At 6 years post-op, I don't think it's as much as NOT eating anything, just making healthier choices..instead of cookies and snack foods that don't add any value, choose the yogurt, cheese strings, heck even another skinless chicken breast cut up...
if you have the syndrome, of idle hands, try reading a book,, as stated I am 6 yrs post-op and I snack almost nightly now on sunflower seeds in the shell...but the outcome of swallowing so much air is not always pretty...but it keeps me away from the Cheetos or Lays~!
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

Good question! I'm pre-op, but I get what you're saying, nights are challenging. I've found brushing my teeth right after dinner really helps. I don't know what it is - but it has been working :)
