Can you delay surgery?

Just a question regarding delaying surgery to a time that works better for you.  Has any one delayed the actual surgery once approved?  I was hoping to have mine done in the summer but am looking at a new job and wouldn't feel right about being off so soon after starting.

I delayed my surgery for a month. I was called in March for April dates but asked if a date in May could happen. the coordinator said yes so I was able to schedule my surgery to better fit my life.

I think the only issue with requesting a date in the future would be how far off they will book.

I delayed mine due to work commitments. I was called for a January date but scheduled for March when it worked out better with workload.

I realized after meeting with the surgeon and being given a date that it would have to be pushed back for work reasons and rescheduled  to a date 2 weeks later before I left the clinic that day. Later that day I got a call saying that the surgeon wanted me to keep the original date that I had agreed to. Long story short I got the later date (but I don't think the surgeon was very happy with me at the time).

I'm sure it will be fine if you tell them right away what would work best for you.

Mine was delayed by the surgeon because I gave a blood donation and she wanted to wait a little longer. She gave me a range of dates I could pick from.
