Good morning all. I am having some issues posting on OH with the surgery list. OH has offered to put a permanent banner up and I would just need to up-date the list. However the list exists in google docs. so not sure I can link to it from here. If someone has some time if they wouldn't mind trying I would appreciate it https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZZmWtRptJW9JxbV-xdib oITYGG3332bAq1uHJsbBK-8/edit#gid=0

Good morning,
Just looked at the weather forecast....and I just sigh out loud looking at it. Running in this weather is just awful. But I do it, and I get 'er done!
Hills tonight x5 - hot yoga this morning (a lovely way to start my Wednesdays!)
B: hard-boiled eggs and avacado and lime juice
L: grilled chicken breast, butternut squash
S: Vega shake
D: spaghetti squash and turkey sauce (and yes...the nutritional yeast cheese is not bad at all...a bit like Kraft dinner sauce...weird but a nice addition)
S: Banana and almond butter
My numbers are low again, especially for the amount i'm working out. MFP keeps yelling at me. (won't even tell me how much i'll weigh in 5 weeks...just a stern, "You better shape up, or ship out" notice! lol

Good morning everyone. Pat, I'm glad that you had some insight at the meeting last night. It's hard to go out in this cold and not get any benefit from it. Kelly, you are a running, awesome, get 'er done machine.
Today it's physio homework. I have a call meeting with the SW from my centre this afternoon. Boy is she going to get an earful, lol. I have not spoken with her in over a year, when she signed off on my surgery. Tomorrow I actually go to my centre for my 6 month followup which was delayed a month because of my being in hospital. The SW wasn't available tomorrow, so that's why I'm speaking with her by phone today.
7 months post-op
B. lots of decaf with cream and sweetener
S. Cheese and mushroom omelette with 1 turkey sausage
L. Brisket with mushrooms and a little gravy
D. Turkey with mushrooms and a little gravy
S. Ham and cheese rollup with Laughing cow jalapeno cheese and after a large Jasmin green tea.
I'm following Tracey and trying to limit those darn carbs. My centre wants me to eat more carbs, but as we all know carbs make for cravings.

They all tell us to increase our carbs because they have to. Registered dietitians have to follow the Canada Food Guide with their advice and grains and legumes and fruit and veggies are what the pyramid say we need to consume the most of. I had one RD tell me that my low carbs that I ate for the first 18 months ( keeping them under 40 grams per day) must have messed with my brain function. I flat out asked her, do I seem like I have lost any brain function to you. That shut her up pretty quickly. Anyone who knows me, knows I do not suffer from diminished mental capacity at all. Yes we do need carbs but we don't need as many as they claim.
That made me laugh out loud.
I do feel like I was somewhat depleted in the head from the low carbs at the beginning...or could just be the toll surgery takes in general. Who knows?

I find when I eat a lot of carbs, like the over 100 grams per day they claim we need, I feel stupid. Maybe I have a messed up brain. I always feel like I am in a fog and can't think straight. If I do it a day or two, it's okay but if that is my diet for more than that, then I am a hot mess. I increased them for two weeks to prove to one RD that I cannot lose on higher carbs even if the calorie count stays the same and I was flighty, gained weight and couldn't put two and two together most of the time. After that she agreed to let me just do what works for me when it comes to carbs.
I go to my Centre tomorrow and will see my NUT. I'm sure there will be a discussion about carbs, sigh.
