Orientation blood work question

The pkg received at orientation has a page to give to your doc to get a requisition for blood work. My doc will actually take the blood and send it away for me so I don't have to go to a blood clinic. I have an appointment to see her Tuesday morning. My question: is this blood work fasting or non fasting? You'd think they would mention it on the page but they don't. I just don't want to show up there and be told that I should have eaten or should not have eaten and have to get the requisition and go another day to a blood clinic.

Any insight on your first blood work request would be great, thanks!

If it doesn't say fasting then it's just regular.  They only need you to fast if fasting glucose is ticked or if they are checking your cholesterol levels.  If it's a random glucose and cholesterol not ticked then no need to fast.

there's no ticks, it's an orange sheet of paper telling me I need to bring the results in on my first appointment. Then it has a "For Physician" box listing the tests they need to put on the requisition. I suppose I can google all the tests and that will tell me what I'm looking for.

Look down the list for fasting glucose and cholesterol(might be called HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, Lipid Panel).  If none are there then it's not a fasting one.

Thanks for the help! Some are there so it is fasting.

The blood for the baraitric centre is fasting. I just had mine done and I was lucky I fasted because they asked me if I had fasted and I had. Nobody had told me I had to fast.
