Full fluids stage-need suggestions

I am 10 days post-op and have another 4 days of full fluids. While I have vowed to not complain about anything related to this surgery, I have to say that I'm really not liking this eating stage.

I was never a big soup person but I really don't like cream soups. I'm struggling with what to have. I'm having a lot of cottage cheese. I know it's only a few more days until I can have some real food, but I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'm determined to use this tool to the fullest and follow the rules. I actually liked my 2 weeks on opti, but this is really going badly.

Take beef or chicken broth and add chopped garlic, maybe some chili flakes or sriracha, simmer  and strain, add a little sesame oil.  Tastes good and will fit into any stage.  Take a vanilla protein shake and add coffee crystals and ice, throw in the blender for a frothy iced coffee.  Mix yogurt with a little SF pudding mix for a thickened yogurt that's a little like cheesecake, add whatever flavouring you like.

Thanks for getting me out of my own head! I added some spices to my dreaded cream soup and it really helped. Next I'm going to mix some pudding and yoghurt.

This is what I love about this board!

I am nearing the end of my second week on full fluids and one more to go. I'm not a big fan of creamed soups either but I have put Habitant Pea Soup in the Magic Bullet and that works well for me because it does have some protein.

I am looking forward to more variety too but am equally glad for the restrictions to help me keep carbs lower. I know that it will be a gradual intro of regular food but I am also looking forward to actually chewing something again! Lol!

Hang in there..your options are going to expand greatly in the next few days! Kim

When I was at this stage I ate sugar free Chapman's butterscotch ice cream, sugar free pudding, low sugar Greek yogurt, Habitant pea soup (much to the DH nose LOL), tomato soup jazzed up with spices and drizzled cheese whiz, and 1% milk (if you can handle it)

What centre did you go through? Tomatoe soup isn't even on my list! Thanks for the info, I need to get to the store!

Hi Pamela

Please leave the sugar free ice cream off your list of full fluids stage.  Likely a good idea to keep it off for a long time.

Sugar alcohols like those found in S/f ice cream can make people dump.  It also can get your sweet tooth going.  Just not a good selection in my opinion.

Sounds like you are doing great and determined to work the program hard - as you likely know the first 6 months or so are your best time frame to get as much off as possible.

Full fluids was truly the hardest for me (so far haha). I made a giant vat of homemade potato soup and I lived off of that. I also treated myself to some consomme soup (Chinese soup.. basically just broth lol) and it helped get rid of the aversions I was having to cream soups.
