I was wondering about the beef broth with gelatin.  Do you just add a pouch of plain gelatin to the hot beef broth or do you make homemade gelatin?  I have been wanting to start adding gelatin to my diet, I have heard it is great for your skin.  Did not know it can also help you sleep, thank you for sharing that information.

i have used the Bulk Barn gelatin but found it dirty so I bought organic in a health food store. I add a tsp in cold water and then mix it with the broth, or I have used it in tea because it adds no taste. More protein and good for sleep. Google or Pinterest search it. It is so good for you

I too am curious about the gelatin as I am looking for any\all suggestions that might possibly help the terrible arthritis in my hands and I've heard of people adding gelatin to things.

Yeah they say that it is good for the joints. I get it from a health food store and add a tsp to cold water then add it to my hot broth or tea. It is good for extra protein, aids in sleep and of course hair and nails.

Good morning birdiegirl, hope you have a nice warm day. Your posts are really helpful as they remind me that it is not this cold everywhere, and that eventually it will warm up again. Minus 37 with the windchill this morning, sigh.  Do you make the low fat granola yourself or buy it?  Right not I am making my own LC hot cereal but am thinking I might do granola next and am looking for ideas. Well, I did not shovel the snow yesterday so I guess that means its will be doing that today. Bought some clothes at value village yesterday, and for 100 dollars total I got a nice winter jacket, 4 tops, 1 jeans, 1 blouse, 2 cardigan sweaters, and a sports jacket.  I have started to lose from my belly so it has been easier to find stuff that fits, right now I am taking size L-XL in tops, 12-14 in bottoms.  When I started this journey in August 2013 I was wearing 2-3x tops and 22-24 bottoms, so there is a huge difference already.  So thankful this morning as I go about my day, I can do so much more now than before, so much more energy, it is amazing.

Barb you left just in time.I am having trouble getting my mind around walking the dog. It is sunny and looks nice but news just said 40 wind chill. We may just hibernate with short dog walks

We have been looking at some trips. The cold is finally getting to us. Can't get a flight with airmiles as usual. It is hard for dh to get time off at short notice. Once March comes I figure I can last until spring. I have volunteered for the panam games so I will probably take time off then. Unfortunately I will not be at one of the venues. I am supervising at the family hotel for accreditation.

b egg, 2 sl bacon

l greek yogurt, granola

d pork tenderloin, cabbage salad

Will probably add something in for snack. But since I am not going to be active I will watch the snacking
