I've now been in a mini stall for 12 days... My mind cannot seem to stop thinking 'is this it, has my weight loss stopped, maybe 80 lbs is all I will lose, maybe at 3.5 months post op, I'm just done'

It can't be over... Deep down inside, I know it's not over, the weight loss. But it still doesn't stop your mind from thinking such thoughts.

I leave for a solo vacation next week. Treating myself for my birthday, R&R! And a few booked tours of Havana! it will also be my first time in a swimsuit in over ten years, and my first time in the water on a beach,  in equally as long. Heck, I haven't even been in a swimming pool in at least ten years. I think that's ridiculous! The things I've limited and stopped myself from enjoying... Anywho, my plan is to TRY and not weigh myself until I return.

For once in my life,  I'm not satisfied with the 180's. I'd have been ecstatic with this number in the past, but nope, not now, I want to go ALL THE WAY.

You will have a great time Jennifer.  Don't worry about the stall, they happen for no reason and go away for no reason, as long as you stick to your plan you are doing all you can.  Enjoy the sun on your face, the water, the sand, and most importantly the warmth.  Be in the moment and enjoy all the activities you denied yourself before like swimming and walking on the beach in your new rockin' swimsuit.  Can I say that I am soooo jealous I hate this cold weather.

You have done great.  Don't worry about the scale, it doesn't show most of what you've lost or gained.  Look at your clothing sizes, what you were before and now.  If you measured, you may find that you aren't in a stall, just a weight adjustment (muscle weighs more than fat, so build muscle scale goes up, but your size goes down).

Enjoy your vacation, take a hat, sunglasses and lots of sunblock.  The biggest thing you need to worry about is drinking lots and lots (of water).  Enjoy the water, and the sights ;o)

You`ll definitely see a difference when you get back, although probably not in our weather :o(

Thanks Cathy! The measuring does really help me realize things have drastically changed, even when i may not see it so much in the mirror!

I haven't been sleeping well, like below 4 hours a night, and I think this is affecting the weight loss. sleep is important! Always have been a bit of an insomniac...

Honestly, I thought the sizes would have changed more with 80lbs. I went from a size 18/20 to now a 12 pant, 10 dress. I have a pair of size 10 jeans 28.5" waist, they are my next mini goal.

Thanks again Cathy! And this weather can go away any day now!!! It makes me just want to stay in and hide under my duvet until spring.

Hey Jennifer ,

You're not done , and you have done so well up to this point . I know you're gonna get there doll . Of I look back I feel like my weight loss has been great , but living in it ...it feels slow . I've been stuck on 257 for 5 days now . I seem to go down a pound every few days . I've not really experienced the whole big blocks coming off , the most has been 4 pounds in 2 days. Apart from Opti stage and the very beginning  I feel like it's slow . But not a stall by any means and I just k ow I need to keep plodding on. I cannot wait to get to 199 , but I know I'll be like you and will not be satisfied !! Lol . Anyway , just wanted to say stay strong darlin . And also , enjoy your trip ! It sounds fab . I dream of vacations on my own , some good books on my Kindle and lazing by the pool !! Pure heaven ! If you change your mind on the solo thing , I'll run away happily!! Hahaha ......can be packed in 10 mins !

Have a wonderful time and enjoy every minute of being in that swimsuit :))

Thanks Jax! And you're right, it does feel slow when you are living in it. You've done great so far too :) And you crack me up, the dreaming of solo vacations LOL.  I've done a lot of solo travel for work, and pleasure, but always met someone, a friend or an ex at some point in the vacation, but this one, this one is completely just me! The tours I booked look like they will be a blast, and one is salsa dancing. Yippeee.

Hope you are staying warm in this crap weather! xoxox

The scale can drive you nuts!  Have a great time on your vacay!  Don't forget about your nutritional needs though :-) (I'm a mom.lol)

Stick to your plan and you will lose more weight.

Good luck!

Jennifer

you have done so well congrats. Even thought in weight stall have you measured yourself that may have changed.  Anyway you enjoy your vacation.  Well deserved.  Enjoy the beach and swimming pool.  So jealous.  I'm hating the snow right now.

Cheers.  Cathy
