Another MIA stepping forward
Welcome home, Liz, it's great to see you posting and you're among friends here. xo
I have to say, your post throws up a lot of red flags for me and I'm concerned about you, both physically and mentally. Of course I don't know what is going on in your life to make you feel so out of control, but the mention of "living in fear every day of my life" and the mention of eating disorders makes me think that you need to seek immediate counselling. I am certain that there are reliable sources of support in the Niagara region - I highly recommend getting a referral to a psychologist to assist you in sorting through the issues you are facing. "Doing the best you can" is (in my not-so-humble opinion) not enough at this point.
I'm very glad to hear that Guelph continues to provide support - I am sure one of the professionals at that bariatric centre would be able to provide you with a referral for psychological services.
I know from experience how deeply intimate relationships can impact our health when the relationships themselves are not healthy. I also understand the need to "take control" of something, anything, when you feel like you have none. You can learn to take back some control (of yourself) with help from a competent professional, it's made a world of difference in my own life after dealing with a life-threatening illness and a very toxic relationship with a sociopath who was determined to kill me if my illness didn't.
Keep posting, get back involved here - again, you're among friends here.

Hi Karen, thanks for the warm welcome back. It is good to be among friends especially because there is no support group down here.
I have tried a few counsellors but have not found people that understand it all. I am talking to a Naturopath that I have connected to and though she isn't qualified to "help" in some of my concerns she really is a good listening ear.
the Guelph clinic could not help with a referal suggestion for the area, though I have a long list. I will only see a woman because of the sexual abuse of my past and one high school counsellor who thought he would get in on the action of a girl who was abused, it has me not trust men counsellors.
I am amazed at how many people live secret lives of horror and pain. Ever since I came out with my childhood sexual abuse more and more people have spoken out about their abuse.
All types of people and all walks of life have their stories to tell and I sure appreciate people like you who support others along the way. hugs
You are so right about people's "secret lives" - lots of sad stories, everyone seems to have one, eh? You never think it's going to somehow relate to you - until it does.
