Totally bummed

got all the way to TWH to find out my surgery was cancelled. Burst pipes. No one bothered to call so I waisted cab fare to and from. 200$ later. I get the pipes is no ones fault but call would have been nice. I guess there were two others scheduled for today. They say they will try to squeeze us in in the next week or two. I have done 6 weeks of opti not sure I cans stand another week or two. What can you do.

Oh wow ! I can understand why you are bummed out ! That , especially after six weeks of Opti , would be devastating. What are they advising you to do as far as Opti is concerned? Do you even have any left ? I think it would be unfair to ask you to buy another 2 weeks worth . It's very expensive.  I'd give them a call and ask what they recommend you do . Even if you purchased something like Premier Protien right now , have 2 a day and then lean protien and veg for dinner? That may work . One case may get you to the point of them calling you back In . I'm sorry to hear this happened , but just hang in there . Maybe they will call in the next few days ? Regardless , it's gonna happen soon . And you've come this far . Stay strong dear , it will all work out .

I guess they were swamped with the number of surgeries that had to be cancelled but it is irresponsible that they did not call. That is a lot of money to spend on a cab.

Sorry for the bad luck (Friday the 13th to blame I guess).  Hopefully you can get in earlier than later. Definitely talk to your centre, you'll need to know how much notice you'll be given for surgery, as well as what to do about nutrition until then.  I'm guessing that you'll be on a modified diet, but they will need to explain to you what you need in either case.

Please don't take another cab!! That's a ton of money. I'm sure you could find a carpool or something else for when your surgery is scheduled. Where do you live? 

Totally agree with Jenn!  There are several hotels in the area with great hospital rates. Posted on the UHN site. 

Feel so bad for you about the surgery being postponed. Don't worry i am sure tgey will do their best to reschedule you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the support. New date is Feb 26. I have low cal diet for few days the bak on the opti. I did not take all the opti so I won't have to buy more. They have also assured me they will make sure phone calls are made in the future. I am lucky in that I can reorganize my time off without any hassle. Not everyone seems to have supportive employers. Although it still sucks it could be worse.
