Making appointments with St. Joseph's - ugh!

Has anyone else had difficulty trying to schedule appointments with St. Joseph's?  I went for my first dietitian appointment about a month ago and they couldn't make any more of my appointments that day because someone was away (weird), and was told to call back the following week.  I did that, and have been leaving messages every week and still not hearing from them.  Today I got through, and the person who answered the phone said I'm going to have a longer wait now since they're booking into April for the internist (I was told I'd be having my surgery then so I know it won't be happening now) and then transferred me to someone else.  And I left another message.

I'm getting a little frustrated with them, I'm sure like many of you have a lot of planning that needs to be done ahead of time for this process and the lack of communication is really not helping.  On top of it all, the phone system is bonkers.

Sorry for venting, but I can't be the only one here dealing with this.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Or even know an extension where I can actually speak to someone?

Thanks for listening to me squawk :)

I had my surgery at St Josephs and did find it very difficult to reach anyone there during the pre surgery stages.  Once I got past the first few appointments and knew who to ask for for what I needed it went quickly.  I do know that they have lost their social worker, and that the nursing staff is undergoing some major changes and that that has caused things to be slowed down.  I know that doesn't make it any easier on you, just sharing so you don't feel they are giving only you the feeling of being brushed off.  Once I was in and going through it all I found some really nice and helpful people there.  You will get 4-6 weeks warning time when surgery books, unless they have a cancellation and you want to fill it.

Thanks so much, it does help to know the place is an overall mess and its not just me :-). Also thanks for knowing the 4-6 week window, that helps me plan for work and whatnot. All I was told was that I'd get through the process quickly and I should be ready for April. But now this seems like it wouldn't be until May/June I'm guessing. Thanks again!

The whole thing is so surrounded by secrecy, or at least it seems to be so when you are waiting.  I got to orientation on Augsut 28th 2014, then I  took a cancellation appointment on November 20th to see the nurse dietician and was to also see the social worker that day but she quit the day before.  I was frustrated and in the dark, but once you get in the door its pretty quick. I had my first appointment on November 20th, waited through Christmas break and saw the surgeon on Jan 12th and had surgery January 20th due to a cancellation. Hang in there, soon you will be thinking wow that was fast.

I tried for one month straight every week calling to make my appointment. It would have been my last one 5 year and they never did return my call. I would have liked to had that last appointment with them. I have heard that they moved up to west 5 not sure it it is true.

I had my appointment at the new location on West 5th.  That's ridiculous though they didn't get back to you, they made such a big deal about making all the appointments at the orientation.  I'm going to try calling again this week and not let them forward me if I get someone on the line.  Hopefully you hear back!

I have given up. Trying and trying and not getting a call back forget it. If I was just out than I would be concern but at this point forget it. Just shows that they are not there for you like they say they are.
