Pictures
So as of today, I am down 119 lbs and am 7 months post-op. Here's a "progression" picture. Not the clearest, but I think the change is a bit obvious. More than the outward appearance is what is happening to me in other ways.
- As an insulin-resistant type 2 diabetic, pre-surgery, I was on 2 different kinds of insulin - taking up to 7 shots a day as well as oral meds. I now take 1 maintenance shot of insulin and half the amount of oral meds.
- My blood pressure was controlled (barely) with 4 different medications. I'm still on 2 1/2 meds, but they are being lowered and adjusted every couple of months.
- I use to have terrible anxiety issues about being in crowds, groups of strangers, etc. The anxiety has almost completely gone away.
- I could barely walk 2 blocks before my hips, lower back and knees would stop me. Now I can go for a good hour before I really need to take a break.
I can't wait to see what the next 7 months holds. :)
TES
TES, you are looking fantastic, what a transformation already! The medical issues you listed that are in the process of being resolved make this journey all worth it in the end. Wishing you continued success and good health.
