Hey all,

I've hit the dreaded 6 month stall! In the last 6 or 7 weeks i haven't lost anything :( Its been hard, i keep thinking "what if this is it, what if i don't loose anymore"! Its starting to mess with my head. im thinking the worst what if im a bariatric failure, what if i gain all my weight back, what if i dont lose any more weight....I haven't changed anything as far as eating habits go, im sticking with my plan that i always have, im working out... im not sure how to restart the weight loss again. Any ideas? Im freaking out a bit!!!

I am still pre-op so no help to you, but I have read where people have done like a purge or back to week 1 fluids or something like that to jumpstart your metabolism again?  I wish I could remember what they all call it!!...  You will be fine, keep doing what you are doing and I am sure you will have a pleasant surprise in a few days.  You pooping ok?  LOL

First step: Stop panicking. You are not a bariatric failure.

Second step: Take a really hard look at what you're eating - it's really easy at this point to start "eyeballing" instead of measuring/weighing and it always seems to end up the same: we're eating more than we think. Weigh, measure, track, record. Check your fluid intake.

Unfortunately, stalls and pauses happen all along the way (and it truly does suck). If you are following your plan really diligently, things are bound to move eventually. Being only 6 months post-op, you've got lots of time left to lose.

K. :)

P.S. I DON'T recommend doing "all liquids", etc. You'll make yourself nuts doing stuff like that.

Hi Brittany;

Don't panic, stalls are natural.  I hit mine over the Christmas/New Year period (and truth be told, I wasn't being as diligent as I had been in sticking to The Plan).  I went for 4 or 5 weeks without much happening.  But things are moving again and I've dropped another 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

Just take a deep breath and get back to basics.  Protein first, keep track of what you eat and the amounts.  Drink drink drink!  And soon the weight will start moving again.

Congrats on the weight loss this far and you still have lots to lose more. :)
