Best way to take meds after surgery?

Only tip I can offer is keeping doing it, it gets better. I would gag before...now I can chew my pill to dust and it barely phases me. So weird...but maybe a bit of peanut butter or even toothpaste? Very strong flavors maybe enough to mask the taste. Assuming you are fresh out of surgery.....not positive if those things are ok for you during liquid stage though. Someone else will have to weigh in. Otherwise I would just say.....do it and just cringe your way though, lol. Good luck =)

I bought childrens tylenol tabs and melted 100mg in water and drank it. worked fine and tasted good.
I understand what you are saying, I am 1 week post op and there were 2 pills that I would just heave so bad that I thought I would rupture my new pouch. Want I am doing now is cutting the pill in four and take it with water. Just make sure you just use a shot glass of water cause you don't want to gulp to much and hurt yourself. Hope this helps.

Any way you can get them into you is okay. I know quite a few people who were not told to crush meds and started taking them whole (or halved) right away. I have trouble taking pills and have found mixing them into Greek yogurt helps a lot.

I just had surgery this past Tuesday at TEGH and they told me to swallow the pills whole. The Percocet are huge so they cut those in half for me and the nurse told me I could have a a bit more then 30ml of water to get it down. I haven't had a problem so far.
