Recent wait times for Ottawa surgeries
It's been a long time since I have posted or been on the boards! I guess life gets in the way!
Today my visit is for a friend who will be getting a referral from his GP for the bariatric process.
He will be going through the Kingston process. Just wondered what the wait times per average for a person without holdups from GP referral to surgery. Any ideas or insight would be helpful to share with him.
Thanks!
Michelle

I was referred to Ottawa mid-January and I just received my invitation to the orientation session this week. It is scheduled for April 20th. When I spoke to a lady at the center she told me that how long to go through the process would depend on the individual and what tests they would require etc. (ie., if they need a sleep test done, that one takes a while usually). She also said that in Ottawa they try to minimize the time between orientation and surgery, and so they may take a little longer to get to the orientation session than other centers, but then appointments would go more quickly. Judging by the signatures on here though, I don't know how true that is. I have yet to see a siggy from an Ottawa patient who went through the system in less than a year, all have been one year + so far.
