Surgery on February 27th so nervous and excited :)
On my shakes only on my forth day now and getting easier but still miss food!!! Not sure if anyone else had this problem I find my mouth is been so dry!! Anxious for my surgery day but very nervous. Hope these three weeks fly by. So nice to have people that I can talk to that have gone through the same thing I am going through. Really love this site. Thanks to all who are so helpful. Looking forward to my journey with everyone.

I have dry mouth because of my antidepressants, I just sipped water all day.
After my first week of opti, I really felt the need to chew. I would cut up half a cucumber and put salt and pepper and red wine vinegar. It felt like a meal.
Best of luck, before you know it you'll be joining us on the bench!
I felt some anxiety about the Opti phase because I couldn't imagine not eating for 3 weeks. That might have given me a dry mouth for a few days. Just keep drinking what you can and it will help.
You will get through this (and probably wonder how it was so much easier than you expected it to be). Hang in there!! 😊
I agree with W8_no_more. My 4 weeks of Opti ends tonight. It is very much mind over matter. After the 2nd week for me I was completely used to it. I was able to have 2 cups per day of lettuce, cucumber, celery and green pepper. I took one leaf of lettuce and put a bit of celery, cucumber and pepper diced up in the leaf with a bit of vinegar and had myself a lettuce wrap. Did the trick!
