Saw the surgeon for post op ulcer/gerd concerns

I left a message on here regarding the continuation of severe GERD symptoms after my surgery, a couple of weeks ago.  I saw the surgeon today and he is going to try changing tummy meds for a month and if that is not helpful they will scope again and go from there.  I am satisfied with that answer and am hopeful that new meds and continuing weight loss will be the key.  On the GOOD news part of all of this, I used to aspirate stomach acid while I slept and therefore went for years without a full nights sleep. BUT over the last several days I have slept through the night without choking and my husband says he has not heard me aspirate at all.  WOOHOO.  So as long as can sleep can cope with the daytime symptoms.  Yippee

I'm glad the doctor has some options for you. Here's hoping that with the new meds and continued weightloss you can kick GERD to the curb :)
