RNY  5 Years 10 Months Post Op

Morning

Great to be home.  The past 4 weeks have been rough in many ways and my eating reflects this.  I am so ready to get back on the horse.  Not going to weigh myself for a few days to get the salt out of my system and get a real number of pounds gained.  I sure know its more then a few as my clothes feel tight.  Ughh.  Going to white knuckle it for the next few days before I fly out again.

Today -spending a good part of the day at hospital with a friend - I have literally nothing in the house so groceries on the list at some point.

EATS

B - 2 large mugs of coffee

     Premier protein shake

S - 1/2 pure protein bar

L - green salad with grilled chicken - purchased somewhere!

S - 1/2 pure protein bar

D - 4 oz beef tenderloin

     1/2 cup of green beans

1/2 cup of 'shrooms sauteed in pam

S - 2 jello with a squirt of FF cool whip

     1 Source lemon dessert yogurt

MYFITNESSPAL totals for the above menu are:  Calories - 937,  Carbs - 66 Grams,  Fat - 30 Grams,  Protein - 103 Grams

All water - at least 3 litres - plus 1-3 more decaf coffee to kill the hunger

Have a great one

Morning all :)

Busy day ahead, will have to make sure I take some time to "unplug" and enjoy my lunch. The sunshine made my short walk at lunch yesterday so wonderful - now if they would only properly clear the sidewalks around city hall :/ I've found the perfect time to visit Costco (around 5 PM) - the place was empty and I was in and out yesterday in 10 minutes! Tanya, your taco lettuce wraps are a great idea - will be adding that to my menu at some point this week.

8.5 years post-op

- coffee with cream x 3 over the day

B - Premier protein shake

S - plain Greek yogurt stirred with homemade SF cranberries, a couple of red grapes (picked up the grapes on sale at Food Basics over the weekend and omg, they're tiny and irritating with their tiny stems /whine)

L - baby spinach, tomato, cubed mozzarella, bacon bits (real, not simulated-mystery-product), sprinkle of sunflower seeds, a little salad dressing, ham/cheese/pickle roll-up (one)

S - ham/cheese/pickle roll-up (one), later: Premier protein shake

D - 3 oz chicken, leftover lemon-basil green beans & mushrooms

S - likely just tea

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

K. :)

I would be interested to know how you do the homemade SF cranberries, how do you store them, do they freeze, do you do similar things with other berries?

I like to use fresh cranberries by the bag (Ocean Spray et al) located in the produce section. I mix 1/2 to 2/3 cup of granular Splenda in 1 cup of water, bring to a boil and add the bag of cranberries, simmer until they "pop", stir it up a little and it's done. I store them in an air-tight container in the refrigerator and yes, they do freeze well. I have not tried this with other berries but I do have some frozen whole strawberries that I will be doing later this week for the same purpose. The amount of sweetener used is really to taste - I prefer things much less sweet.

I never find a good time at Costco. 5 pm is a bit better, but still difficult. And families spreading themselves wide and slow walking and waiting for free samples drives me nuts. LOL

Ohhh, I just talking about it makes me irritated, and I have a nice glow on. I did a 6:30 hot yoga class.....deep breaths....ahhh.
