Good morning Karen. I am up a little early today. I have another class tonight on Mindful Eating. It is definitely helping me slow down when I eat. Marks WW has a sale on boots. I seem to have a lot but none that are light warm and dry. The one I have that are warm and dry weigh a ton. They seem to irritate my knees. The ones I have that are warm and light are not dry even when I have sprayed them. I do hate boots. I am trying to hit the sore between work and TWH.
Swimming today at lunch
b greek yogurt, granola, blueberries
s banana and PB
l stew, yogurt
s protein bar
d yogurt, granola, blueberries
I will be having dinner after the session at TWH so something light before bed
I loved the Minful Eating course. It helped me a lot. I still meditate maybe once a week (self-guided) and I often slow down to "think" about the food that goes in my mouth. Where it came from, how good it is fuelling me etc. I know that not everyone had the same results from the course, but I feel that the timing was right for me, and I was open to it :) Hope you are enjoying it!

I'm really glad you're finding use in the mindful eating class, Pat. I almost feel like it should be a required course in three parts - one for the pre-op to learn to slow down and learn the basics of mindful eating, one for the 6 month post-op to get them thinking and stay on course when the "diet blahs" set in, and one for maintenance. I only wish there was such a thing when I went through WLS - actually, I wish there was the organization and access to multiple professionals that people have these past 6 years or so.
Mark's boots - I have a couple of pairs and a couple of pairs of shoes from there and every single one of them are heavy as hell. I swear they feel like I'm lugging around bricks in there. lol

My name is on the list for the next Mindful Eating session--but they're not sure what time of day they'll be having it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention Pat. Many of the people I spoke to about it at the last TWH meeting were very positive about it. I just hope they don't lose my name ... I've given them my email at least 4 times to notify me re: upcoming Wed. night meetings, and I still haven't received any.
Me too. I'm never on the list, and I was a speaker last month! LOL

Pat I am 6 months out and will try some of the techniques that Kelly mentioned about mindful eating. Any other tips would help.

Minfulness is all about meditating. But just sitting at the table and taking a few deep breathes before you start. Being aware of the taste and texture of what you are eating. Try not to rush, this is one of my major failings. Really savoring your food. There is a webinar today on Mindfulness at 1:30. You may still be able to sign up for it
