protein shakes
I know everyone says the ready made shakes from Costco are good, what about the pure protein shakes from Walmart, how are they?

when people ask (what are they like), I always respond it depends on your taste, what tastes good to 50 people, might taste absolutely horrible to the next one.
When I was first on protein after my surgery I tried at least a dozen or more different brands etc of protein powder, I eventually ended up on protein bullets...until a friend suggested I try a protein from GNC, which Is till use to this day on occasion 6 years later.
When trying ANY protein whey powder or supplement, it is best to buy the smallest quantity you can at first...also if you buy products from GNC you can return it if you are not 100% satisfied.
Also remember that unless you absolutely love chocolate or peanut butter it won't make a lot of sense to buy a large canister of the same flavour. You are better off to go with an unflavoured protein and add your won SF syrups.
I currently use ISOPure low carb unflavoured and I "doctor" it with 2 teaspoons orange juice a small banana and 3 large ice cubes. I also have several different flavours of Sugar Free syrups (just for variety)

Thanks so much for your reply!! And for the helpful tips, I will certainly try the sf syrups!
you are most welcome, I truly is about finding something that you like.
Also, I would suggest when you make your shakes you put it in a cup with a lid in order to drink it.
NO matter what type of protein powder you use there will ALWAYS be the smell of the whey...and even at 6 yrs post-op, I find the smell disgusting. If you put it in a travel mug/cup, you drink it through that small hole you can't smell anything.

I found them really thick but not bad tasting. I hate Premier Shakes but love the Total Lean Shake from GNC. It's very much a personal preference so worth trying a few of them and find a few that you don't mind. I love Isoflex powder that I mix up myself but their ready to drink shakes are disgustingly thick. The powders and RTD from the same company are not always the same so just buy small quantities and keep trying.
