Hi

I am now 2 weeks out.   I find I have to watch my portions as I don't seem to get full.  😳 I manage a min of 60g protein and some day**** the 90g goal.

In my 2nd week I haven't lost weight. 😟

I have been using MFP to journal.  I am wondering how many calories I should be having in a day? I tend to be 500-650.

You probably won't feel full for a long time because the nerves in your stomach were cut and they take a while to heal.  That is why in the beginning it is so important to measure your food so that you don't overeat and hurt your new pouch.  You are only two weeks out and the centres are a little more forgiving in the first few weeks about hitting protein targets.  Make sure you get all of your water in, that is crucial for your healing and for getting more energy.  As for calories, just stick with your centre's meal plan at this time.  You will not likely lose for a little while because your body has been through the trauma of surgery and is holding onto fluids.  Be kind to yourself and stay off the scale for a bit, or you will drive yourself crazy.  Hope this helps.

I didn't even think that that is why I may not feel full.

I can't eat as much as the meal plan, so maybe I should relax a bit 😉

thanks for the advice!

You will get different signals to tell you are full.  Some people get the hiccups, some sneeze, some burp, you will get to know what your signal is.  Relaxing a bit is a good thing.  Remember drink your fluids you will feel so much better if you do, also it helps the body get rid of the fluids you are retaining.

Thanks to both of you.  For the question and the answer.  This information has been extremely helpful for me today.  Was going to write to ask but signed on and there it was.  Thanks

I did not start feeling a full sensation until I started solids, at about 5 weeks post op.

I was having about 400-500 calories at two weeks post op.

Good luck, you'll be fine if you stick to your centres plan :)
