Pissed off and fed up
I'm so pissed off right now. I was refereed to a Gynecologist due to some feminine issues (heavy flow, irregular periods). He tells me I have something and its the thickening of the lining. So I say take out the uterus I don't need it any more. Because of the hospital he is associated with he cannot operate on me cause of my difficult intubation issue. So they send me to another gynecologist. Well she is a witch with a b. Tells me she won't operate cause I'm way to fat. Like I didn't know I was fat. She does a few test and says I'm fine. I explain my issue and say so I'll go back on the Depo shots. And again she says why would you do that your already fat enough. So she prescribes me a pill that they give to cancer patients and anorexic people to make them gain weight and eat more. Really. I cannot wait to go to my trio appointments Thursday. To know that my life will be changing sooner than later.

Sorry this is happening to you. From my own experience, I can say that being overweight was the primary cause of the same issue. Once you have WLS, you should see some relief from your symptoms. Stay strong, your life will be changing for the better.

Thanks for the support. But I think this has to do more with my age than being overweight. I've been overweight my whole life and never had any issues. I'll be fifty this year and most of the ladies in my family were in menopause before fifty.

Thanks again And I am hanging in and looking for another doctor. I've asked a few ladies from my Curves location who they see so I can get a referral to someone much nicer.

So many things are just wrong with what happened to you - I don't have advice other than to get thee to another gynecologist who isn't such an utter ***** and I encourage you to rate her publicly (ratemymd.com or something) online.
I don't understand the reasoning behind prescribing you a medication clinically designed to aid in weight gain - unless the weight gain is a common side-effect for a medication that can assist you with your menstrual cycle, which was the whole point in going to the gynecologist.

I have the same issue, thickening of the lining which can turn to cancer if not looked after. My Gyno put me on Prometrium (might not be correct spelling) and now it is looking much better. My periods are now on a reg schedule, still heavy for a few days but tolerable. Just thought you might want to mention this to your Doc. Oh he said it's because I was missing the hormone progesterone which causes the lining to thicken..

Hi Sandra,
First what happened to you is very sad and upsetting especially coming from a Dr that shouldn't be one obviously. I just wanted to tell you my situation because it might be an option for you.
First get another Gyno.
I have had the same issue. I used to bleed severally from my periods and sometime even without. The tops of my socks wold be soaked at times and had this happen on a plane (not to embarrassing).
I talked to my Gynecologist (fantastic) and she recommended that I have an ablation done. the best thing I have ever done so far. No more periods or should I say maybe 1 a year and light pink for half a day (can differ from person to person) but it worked for me and might be an option for you.
I have been big my whole life and never once did my weight get mentioned for the operation. It was day surgery pretty painless and I was back to work (office) in 3 days.
All the Best,
Crackerno
Thanks Crackerno, I am looking for another Gyno. I asked a few ladies at Curves yesterday. I had a friend who had an ablation. But this doctor just keeps pushing pills which I cannot take because of reactions. Did research on the pills she wants me to take and no way in hell am I taking a pill that increases your appetite. So until I can see another Gyno I keep forging forward.
