Passed, but surgery is booking in...

I'm with Dr. Starr.  And I completed my panel of 3 today and passed. 

Dr. Starr's office says the next available surgery date is August. August 31st to be exact. 

Holy crap. 

wow thats quite a while....but when were you first referred?  Usually about a year from referral to surgery.  August 31 is my birthday :)  It will be here before you know it, and you can get yourself all mentally prepared!

Congratulations about getting your date, that's awesome... but too bad about the long wait until August!  Would it be possible for you to get on the surgery cancellation list? xo

You're right - at least it's a date!  The girl did say something may open up and I might be able to get in, but I don't have high hopes for that. 

What I'm curious about is how someone gets a date in April/May and two weeks later I'm getting the very end of August. They must shut down for a couple months in the summer?  Otherwise, it doesn't compute.

This will be a 15 month process for me with this date. (For anyone curious about dates.) 

This date will suck though, as I'll miss my daughter's first day of school ever.  I'll miss my husband's birthday.  I'll miss the most important time of the year for my job... Basically,  this is the crappiest date for me besides getting December 23rd.  This is my luck, always. Oh well!!!  Moving forward!

Hey hon....I sense your frustration and absolutely 'get it'  They actually offered me March 30 and I asked for a month later because March 30 was not a good date for me with work and a get away already booked.  I am OK with waiting the extra time for a date that really works for me.  Maybe you can get in earlier... or just ask to book you further into September.  At that point, whats another month right?  And that date will work better for you maybe???  HUGS

and.....I hear you about the dates for some people getting in sooner, etc.  I have been chatting with 3 friends on this website and we all see Dr. Starr and we all had our surgeon meeting the same day, or within a week, and all 3 of them have their surgery already or in the next month.....and I am last LOL  Although it seems unfair or whatever....I am comfortable with it, I am learning from these friends as they go through it first.  I am getting good advice from them and I am very happy for them too!  There is a reason for everything I believe.

I saw him two days after you, on the 17th. It's so strange how the timelines differ.  I may just pu**** a bit. Not a bad idea. Maybe end of October would be better.  Insanity. I wish we could just move centres or change surgeons - kidding (sort of)!!  On October 17th they suggested I'd be in for surgery come June...  So August was just a little shocking.  I'm getting over the shock now, thankfully!  

I know someone that changed surgeons to get a closer date. She was scheduled for September with Hagen and called the clinic asking if she could get in sooner with another surgeon and she had her surgery pushed ahead to June. 

So that can actually be done?  Hmmmmmm. Considering that now!!!
