May need a surgery/procedure (non bariatric related) - How long to wait?
Hi everyone,
I just found out that I will most likely be having a surgery (non-bariatric related) to deal with an issue that was found in the immediate future. Has anyone experienced this? If so, is there any rules to how long you have to wait between procedures? This one (fingers crossed) may be minimally invasive, just waiting to hear back from the specialist. If there's a long wait, do you know how long you can be on the list for a surgery date before you have to start the whole process over again? I'd hate to have to go do all these tests in a few months - I don't live close to the hospital so I've already had to take quite a bit of time off of work.

I'm not sure if this is the same but this is my journey in the last year. Dec 12/13 I had left hip replacement, then got scheduled for bypass on May 23/14 and then on dec 1/14 I had right knee replacement.
I was only back to work full time maybe less then a month before I had to take time off for the bypass. So I found out in April 2014 that my surgery was May 23rd and they said I was gtg even with the other surgery 5 months prior.
Good luck

funny you should ask this as I have been thinking the same thing the last couple of days. I just found out that I may need kidney stone surgery, they are too big to blast, and I don't know which surgery I should have first! I obviously will discuss with my doctors once they confirm the size of the stones :(
Sorry no answers, but good luck!
I'm so sorry to hear that, but at least they're taking care of it right? When I first started the referral process I still was unsure whether I'd want to go through with it, but I thought even if I didn't, at least I was able to get the gauntlet of tests they offer and know if there's anything else going on I otherwise would never know about - so glad I did! Hope it all works out with you and you get the best care there is!
