Awesome protein bar

I've found it very difficult to find a tasty, WLS-appropriate protein bar.  Most that I've looked at had too much sugar or tasted nasty or both.  But today, hallelujah, I found a winner!

I was in Rexall and they sell a brand called Simply Protein bars. I bought the lemon coconut flavour. They have 140 cal; 1g of sugar and 15g of protein. They are made in Canada and they taste damn good!

Ordinarily I have no use for protein bars (usually my go to is a shake) but I wanted to have some on hand for when I go back to work to stash in my desk as emergency rations for those times when I don't have time to make a shake and I'm on the run.  Glad I found these and wanted to share in case anyone else is on the hunt for a good bar!

Hmmm, protein bars, I have been thinking about those too...I hear Quest bars are good too. Thanks for the suggestion of the Simply Protein bar. It is nice to get a protein source that doesn't need a cooler when you are at work.

They are absolutely fantastic... love them.  They have them at Zehrs as well and all the flavours rock

Well.ca carries their whole line!  I just ordered boxes of two different flavours as well as a box of their "protein crisps" - I plan to use them in lieu of granola (which always has too much sugar) on top of yogurt. Free shipping with Well.ca too!

They have them at Costco too if you are interested, good price.  Simply bars and quest are the two I find the best overall.  I also like power crunch bars but they do not fill me up in the same way, they are also addictive!

Ive never tried the simply bars yet but I have tried the Quest bars.

While they are good, I have to say some are too sweet.  You also need to watch out for the sugar alcohols in them as well.

They also have the Simply bars at Bulk Barn, as well as Simply chips in chili, BBQ and herb and garlic, also in larger bags simply bits, with dried fruit pieces and coconut or other nuts depending on the flavour.  The chips are great and have similar stats to the bars without the sugar alcohols.

I think I will be making a trip to the Bulk Barn and taking my $3 off coupon with me.  Thanks!!!

I just received my order from Well.ca and tried the Simply Protein Crunch bits (raspberry-coconut) and they are amazing. Kind of like trail mix but with 10g of protein, 8g of fibre and only 2g of sugar at 100 cal per bag. Perfect thing to get you through a snack attack.  Personally, these will be my new go-to as a substitute for movie popcorn.  And they are VERY filling!
