Hi all,

Here is a recent update on my journey.  All is well...had RNY May 26 in Hamilton with Dr. Anvari.  No complications and cannot believe the ride this has been.  Down about 168lbs as of this am!  I have began running and would never have thought this was ever possible again.  I am so happy to have made this decision.  It does take a lot of willpower and is far from easy but this tool can help to reclaim many lives.  No out to shovel and hopefully as least a walk if snow prevents a run today.  Got a foot of snow in Hamilton.

Hi Buck this is one of my goals after I lose lots of weight - to get back in to running again. My surgery is this Wednesday and posts like yours are very inspiring for me.  Congratulations on your hard work and wonderful weight loss and all the best to you!  xx

Thanks all,

My plan is to run a 5k in spring...maybe some walking in there too...lol...see how it goes.  Right now I am training by running stairs up side of escarpment in Hamilton.  Approx 350 stairs bottom to top...and have worked my way up to 3 times each time I go...happy to see all the recent ops or preops with similar goals...nothing feels better than standing at the top of the escarpment thinking of my life just a year ago...best feeling ever!  Good luck everyone!

Doesn't it feel great? I have Eye of the Tiger in my running playlist...it ALWAYS seems to come on when i'm in need of a boost, or running a hill. Makes me giggle!
