First Appointment

I had my orientation October 20 2014. I had not heard anything so I called today. My first appointment with a surgeon is on February 10. What happens at this appointment?

I just wanted to say congratulations on your surgeon appointment David!  That is a great next step.  I went through TWH and I didn't meet the surgeon until the last appointment.  I think you might be at HRRH?

Yes I am at HRRH. This is the first appointment in the whole process. I think this is the doctor who gives the green light to continue on in the process.

David congratulations on your weight loss so far!  I saw it in your signature.  Way to go!

Thanks Dreamy74. I used the Atkins Diet but I have been stalled since September.

I went through HRRH also.  My surgeon was Dr. Klein.  The appointment took a total of 10 minutes.  I was weighed, asked about my lifestyle, he explained the procedures he does, recommended RNY, and he saw me when I had finished all other appointments to book my surgery.

That's it!  If you have any questions for your surgeon, I suggest you write them down so a) you don't forget and b) it's a pretty quick appointment, you may  feel rushed.
