Well I guess I am the new guy around here so I thought that I would pop in and say hello. I am from Ontario. Have just recently decided to seek information regarding weight loss surgery. Spoke with my Family Doctor and he agreed that it could benefit me. He sent in the referral on January 8th. I will be attending my orientation class in Windsor on February 12th! Is there anyone else that is just at the beginning stages of this process?

I am in the beginning stages of this process. My doctor sent in my referral last week so I am just waiting. I will be going through Windsor as well. Just wondering how long did it take for you to get your orientation date?

Seen my family Doctor on Jan 8th 2015 and asked for the referral. His office called me on the 14th with my orientation date and I received a letter last Tuesday the 20th from the program in windsor.

I thought it was fast as well. I think they do orientation once a month

Welcome to the forum, I am newly post-op so about 7 weeks, sounds like you had a great turn around on your orientation, I waited several months between being referred and getting my orientation. it is an interesting journey, this forum can be very helpful, the vets have a lot of insight and generally share their knowledge very freely, I found this to be very helpful, and it is nice to be involved in a community that understands what you are going through.
