Going Crazy Waiting.

I am seriously going crazy waiting.  I had my orientation in December and I am going crazy waiting to hear about my appointments.  I called today and they are apparently behind they are just doing appointments for people that attended their orientation in October (this is at the HRRH). The lady was really nice however, that I spoke to, and explained to give them another month and then gave me a number to call if I have not heard anything.  But patience is totally not my strong suit.

My cousin went to the Sept 26th orientation.  She just got the call that she meets with the surgeon next week. So I'd say unfortunately you still have quite a little bit of a wait ahead of you. Just use the time wisely and research the heck out of everything. And start making changes. Before you know it you'll be on the losing side of things!! Good luck ♡

The waiting is tough, but is a necessary part of this equation. Everyone must get through "the process" and make sure all tests are covered, signed off and that you are truly ready to get on the table for surgery.

I am grateful that here in Ottawa it took me a year from referral to surgery. I took that time to read everything on these forums. I learned so much from those who had gone before me. I knew what was required of me and what traps to avoid. I went into it with my expectations realistic and my determination set. Success is the goal... nothing less. Failure is NOT an option.

Be thankful; here in Ontario, we talk in terms of months to one year (or so) from referral to surgery. In other provinces, it's up to an 8 year wait in many places. So I thank heavens I live here instead of somewhere else!

Hang in there.  I think I understand though.  It's not an easy decision to pursue WLS, but once we've finally got on the path - it just seems to be so long!  I have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it (because it will be) and honest with myself that it didn't take a year to put this weight on, so if I have to wait and let the process happen.  In the meantime, reading these message boards, creating a Pinterest board full of recipes and motivational thoughts keep me busy.  Hang in there - you'll get the call!

It is hard. Once we make this life altering decision we want it done. But as others have said use this time to read and research. Your time will come.

I hear ya, its frustrating but it is part of the process.  I would LOVE to fast forward the waiting too but lets face it, good things come to those that wait.

Patiently waiting with you.....
