Dr. BHOJANI in Guelph
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with him. I hear lots of good things about Dr Reed but nothing about Bhojani. I worry that I have ticked him off because I had to push back my surgery day a couple of weeks and it messed with his plans. I also feel like he thinks it was only for personal reasons that I requested the delay. In my heart or hearts I have to admit the idea of starting 3 weeks of Opti three days before Christmas was making me feel like I was being set up to fail and I didn't want to start the phase with a huge negative event. The two week delay has really fit perfectly with my work needs and made it so much easier for me and my boss.
I just don't get a lot of 'comfort' from him. Maybe it's because he's so young...The more important thing is that he is good at what he does I guess. I'm probably overthinking this but would like any feedback you have re Dr. Bhojani.
Thanks!

Dr Bhojani did my surgery on July 29 Last year. He was amazing. Very compassionate and checked in on me twice each day while in the hospital. You have nothing to worry about, you are in good hands. Good luck.
To me it sounds like you are way over-thinking this. Surgeons have people reschedule appointments and surgeries all the time - I would find it highly unlikely that he would be so sensitive to take it personally and be "ticked off". As for you not finding him comforting - many surgeons and specialists lack in bedside manner. He just needs to be a good cutter.
I have heard nothing negative at all about Dr. Bhojani at all, only positives.

I had Dr. Bhojani. I cannot say enough about how great he is. He fought for me at rounds to get this surgery (internist didn't think I was a good candidate). He checked in on me every day, sometimes twice, and even called me one night ( had a complication, medication related).
A few months ago I was hospitalized with what turned out to be a Petersens hernia (quite common with wls patients), and he took great care of me once again.
He is very patient, and has a real calming presence. I think you are reading too much into things.
You are in great hands. Feel free to pm me anytime.
Good Luck
Vicky

Dr Bhojani is an excellent surgeon. He came into see me 2-3 times a day. He was very concerned I had a leak, he ordered tests ect, he was very concerned. He had fantastic bed side manner. Im not understanding where you mention you dont get alot of comfort from him, he maybe young but he is damn good at what he does.
Also he would never set you up to fail. He may question your commitment to this surgery, especially when so many are wanting this surgery and waiting a long time, and then you put it off because it sounds like you wanted to feast at Christmas, what are you going to do next year when Christmas comes along? Remember this is a life changing surgery, and it certainly doesnt sound like you are serious about it.
I appreciate all the supportive comments and the insight from those who have had Dr Bhojani. It's just what I needed in the last few days before my surgery.
To the last poster...perhaps I didn't articulate my feelings very well in my original post. First of all...I wasn't looking for 'comfort' necessarily. I just felt it was difficult to get a feel for him as a surgeon in one brief meeting. This is why I posted my question in the first place. I do take this surgery seriously...and the life change it involves and I am ready for it. I had hoped to be able on this site if no where else, to freely and honestly express my thoughts and fears without having to worry about being so harshly judged. I guess I misunderstood how this works...
