if you have a semi private room would you be sharing with another Bariatric patient?

I had no insurance for any specific type of room, but was lucky enough to have a semi private. And yes it was another bariatric patient in there with me. I assume most of the time that's how they do it but can't be sure.

I almost got sent home the day of surgery as they had no beds available, I was one of the last surgeries of the day. The only bed to come available was a private room. It was *awesome*, I have no insurance. To answer your question, no coverage means you get a room with 4 beds generally. Semi private is 2 beds, and private is 1 bed with your own bathroom.

At TWH, I ended up in a semi-private and my room-mate was not a WLS patient. I did not have to pay extra and I have no coverage. I believe that you just get what's available at the time and I don't think they make an effort to match you up with another WLS patient. It would have been nice to have another WLS buddy in the room

I did not have any extra insurance and I ended up in a semi-private room with an older lady who had suffered a pretty bad fall.

I had requested a private room but was put into a semi (Ottawa Civic).  I was lucky enough to be roomed with another wls patient who had their surgery the same day, before mine.  Im glad I didn't get a private room, it was nice to talk and relate to someone.  Walked the halls together etc..

Surgery Date: November 7, 2014 - Dr. Yelle, Ottawa - HW:298 SW: 275.4
