Swimming - how long after surgery?
You can go in water as soon as your incisions are completely healed (no leaking at all). It's about 6 weeks before you can do any water exercise (including swimming). When I had my surgery, it was end of June and I didn't get into the pool at all that summer due to leaking serius fluid (the stuff that hold our blood cells). They just don't want to risk infection, even from a clorinated pool.

Thanks for the info, Cathy! It's crazy but my incisions are healing really fast and I've had no fluid coming out of them. But I'll wait until my one month follow up to have a nurse give a thumbs up before I venture into the pool. I have one in my building so I'm looking forward to using it on those days when it's a bit too cold for long walks outside.
