Good morning :)

Off to work 'til noon, have to pick up a few groceries after, not sure what else other than having dinner with Andrew this evening. Dinner out was fun last night and the menu didn't disappoint and the food was delicious AND I have leftovers for lunch.

If anyone knows a Costco that is selling Premier protein in vanilla, please let me know! I keep calling around and can no longer find them.

Good morning everyone.  Barb I hope you enjoy working with the trainer this morning.  Karen I am glad your dinner out was good.

The scale has been very kind the past 2 days and I have lost 4 pounds which after a stall was started to get me a little frustrated.  I think that cutting out the sweet (even NSA) things during the day and just having something before bed has helped, but two days does not a trend make, lol.

Today it's swimming with 3 fitness classes in a row.  Later on I am having coffee with a friend then back to cleaning up the house and laundry.

5 months post op

B. Homemade protein coffee before and after swimming

S. Protini souvlaki with Tzatziki

L. Another protini (they were on sale)

S. Decaf latte

D. Turkey breat with mushrooms and a little gravy

S. Fresh fruit with Greek yogurt for dipping

Have a great day everyone

CC, I think you're correct about cutting out the "sweets", NSA or artificially sweetened included. Just as carbs beget more carbs, sweet (in whatever form) begets more sweets for many people. Good for you for realizing it and fixing it.

Later evening snacking is a challenge, isn't it. Over the holidays I noticed a pattern of my brain (not my stomach) wanting something "sweet" as it got later. Since I don't really do refined sugar at all I found myself scrounging in the kitchen for something that would satisfy it only to be pretty unsuccessful - except the one time I ate a freakin' chocolate. (insert eye roll at myself here) The best thing I have found is 1) distraction (I now have a terrible addiction to Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, and Farm Heroes. What a productive way to spend my free time, I know.), and 2) go the hell to bed (with Andrew here for much of the holidays this was a great choice, take that as you will ;)).

Oh how I miss the days of cottage cheese and ketchup, Libra - that item on your menu always gave me a giggle (and a bit of a gag, I must admit lol).

It's Friday!

Baci,

K. xo

Happy New Year Karen! Thank you for my morning giggle. You are absolutely right about the "brain" craving verses the stomach. It's a matter of stopping and deciphering which---and we all know how easy that is. Let's make plans to get together. ox

Hi Libra

I either have to play games on the computer like Karen does - or go to bed early to avoid late night snacking.  I always save a few items for the nights - and it has nothing to do with hunger and all to do with the head!

You and Karen are right...I need to occupy my hands and mind with something other than food. I just got a bunch of meditation/hypnosis CD's to fill in the time. I'm also "thinking" about getting back into my artwork. I haven't done any in so long. I remember what peace it brought me. Enjoy the warmth Barb. Take care.
