So I've had an on going issue since surgery regarding my liver function and have had to do a bunch of blood work.  My doctor is at a loss in regards to my results...apparently my vit D is only at 45 instead of the usual 75-250 and my calcium is through the roof.  I've tried getting ahold of the nurses at TWH but no one ever wants to call me back.  My doctor wants me to stop taking my calcium and vit d pills and just take 2500mg of vit D a day.  Anyone else had any issues with their levels?

I'm through HRRH but when I went for my 3 month check up I had bloodwork done that showed I needed to lower my vitamin D amount to 2000mg a day but before surgery they had me taking 6000-8000mg of vitamin D.  I don't know about calcium though.

Is it a serum calcium or a corrected calcium. How is your albumin as that will affect your calcium. Talk to the team about calcium. Low vitamin d is very common with obesity. We are all probably low pre op

Definitely want to talk to your team, so keep pestering them. I think your doctor's advice is best for now.

Find out if they checked your parathyroid hormone (PTH). This may be your culprit.
