Hi everyone!!

So, I have swollen lymph nodes behind my ear. Thought it was an ear infection but doctor at the walk in said nope. I'm not sick and don't show any signs of being sick. He made me do bloodwork and is sending me for an ultrasound tomorrow. I forgot to mention thT I had surgery 3 months ago to the doctor. Do you think I should call him back to tell him? I really don't think it is related however I did make the mistake of self diagnosing on Google!! Damn, I hate when I do that but I can't help myself!! Lol

Well, you learned your lesson googling symptoms - never a good idea, according to google we're all dying. lol My son had swollen lymph nodes in his groin around age 14 and of course, I was panicked (thank you google). Saw a specialist right away and he noticed that my son had a large healing scrape on his hip (skateboarding accident that we thought nothing of, he was always walking wounded with that freakin' board) and he dismissed it as a side effect of the scrape/infection, which was correct.

It would be good for the doctor to know you had surgery 3 months ago, yes. Try not to panic and give google a rest for tonight. ;)

Haha, thanks Karen!! I always check google and think I am dying until the doctor tells me otherwise and even then I am scepticle!! I will call the, tomorrow cuz I am sure my hemoglobin will come back bad as I am still relatively fresh out of surgery.

weird though, absolutely no other symptoms, no cuts scraps or anything.....

It is definitely weird and you were absolutely right in going and getting it checked out. I'm impressed the walk-in doc is sending you for both blood work AND an ultrasound - get that doc's name, very helpful to have someone competent in your corner!

As an adult, in my thirties, I had enlarged lymph nodes in my neck. I also had flu like symptoms but the lumps in my neck freaked me out.  I went to my Dr. and this is what he told me, I will never forget it because it was so funny, "Your body is fighting a war against a virus and your lymph nodes are the military bases. Even after the fight is over, your lymph nodes might still be engaged, on high alert, just in case"  it seemed like something you'd tell a little kid.  But he was right, they settled down. but it was freaky.  Also, I am about 4 months out now and I notice every weird bump and lump in my body now.  Those ribs and tendons and lumpy bones were always there, they just were padded before so i never noticed.  So far, I've thought I had tumors in my elbow, on my knee and around my ribs...Until I realized I'm just not as fluffy as I used to be!

Good luck!
