Is anyone one over 50 when they had surgery?

I was 6 weeks shy of my 50th birthday. Also wished I had done this much sooner. I am healthier than I was in my 30s.

One step at a time and use the waiting time to learn all you can to make this a great journey. There is actually an over 50 forum on the main page of this site.

All the best,

Karen

I had my RNY Sept.2 2014, 4 months past my 64th birthday. Best thing I've done for myself, i feel good and the weight is coming off. I would do it again in a heart beat. Good Luck

Hey Sallygeewiz!   I had my RNY sugery on July 10th and turned 60 on July 22nd.  Now,  4 mos. out I have lost over 100 lbs. and never felt better or more secure in my ability to eat foods that nourish my body instead of abusing it.  I was only in the Hosptial for one night and went back to work in 5 days!    On July 10th I could hardly walk,  could not stand for any length of time without getting paniky that I was going to pass out and never, ever worked out.   Today I'm working out at the gym every night,  with a trainer once a week and loving life! This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.   My age had no bearing on any part of it.  Good Luck!  Harris
