Got my date for Orientation
It depends on whether or not he's supportive, LOL
I took my mom who is NOT supportive and the orientation tells you the good, the bad, the ugly, the truths of surgery, and the downsides. It's quite informative, but if you feel like he has any hesitations then it may not be a good idea. My mom only seemed to hear the drawbacks and the hardships I will (maybe) encounter. She hates the idea and road blocks me whenever possible.
Congrats and good luck! Also, which center are you going to? I'm sure others on here will have advice, tips and tricks for you.
Referral - Feb 25th, 2014. Info Session - April 7th
Surgeon#1 - May 15th Dr. Glazer - July 23rd, Dietitian/Social Worker/RN - Aug 1st, Surgeon #2 - Sept 10th, Surgery - Dec 16th, 2014!
I find it helpful to have someone there with you, and it's easier to have someone who is supportive, that's for sure.
An extra set of ears to listen to the details and walk through stuff with you is a great thing. Congrats on the orientation date. It will be here before you know it.
