life brand calcium chews....
Then, no you shouldn't use them. Calcium carbonate is known for causing kidney stones. Actually, just a few days ago, our friend ****rogirl posted some fantastic research she had done on this subject.
I am on my phone so can't pull it up as I bookmarked it. I hope she reads your post and sends you the link as it will answer why RNY patients should never use carbonate.
Annette 👍
The Jamison chewable calcium is citrate not carbonate. I used those for a few months and really liked the caramel ones. They were my little treat. After a while though I found (tmi alert) they made my stools very gooey and soft. My labs were great while taking them.
Currently I use the Kirkland brand. Kirkland Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D. Calcium is 315mg with 200IU of Vitamin D. 350 tablets for $9.99. HRRH recommended them to me. It goes on sale often. They are huge pills much like their prenatal multi I take but they work very well.
Annette 👍
HRRH told me I could take most of my pills right away. I did crush pretty much all my pills in my apple sauce (that's what the nurses brought me post op) except for my antidepressant, I took that whole, as suggested.

Jamieson cal chews are a MIxTURE of calcium citrate and carbonate. If you use them it should only be the first month or two until you can take full citrate.
These are the ones that I used that rendered me osteopenic. I do not suggest anyone stay on them.
Calcium levels are NOT revealed in blood work. You need a bone mass density test for that.
