I usually have greek yogurt and a bit of fruit, roasted soy nuts, protein bar if I'm on the go. I'm the queen of always having something snack size with me. Simply protein has some tasty snack size bars (really tiny) that are quite good. It helps curb the cravings.

I saw the Snap Pea Crisps and have tasted a couple of them the other weekend. I agree they would be more of a treat for me. I think they are too high in carbs for my liking and resemble too much like chips that it would make me crave those things more.

A few nuts and a cheese string go a long way too.

Hope that helps!

I love the Planters Nut-rition for keeping in my purse. I prefer the mens blend because I like pistachios but the other two are good as well. Each pack has between 8-9g protein. My other favorite snack is sharp cheddar cheese sticks. They dont work for just keeping in my purse though (warm cheese=YUCK!). It really is trial and error to find what works and you like best. Good luck!

Where do you buy the Planters Nut-rition from? I'm still new to shopping in the "Healthy" Snack Food sections and short of pulling the shelves down I can get fairly lost among the masses of snack foods if I don't know what I am looking for lol.

I too try to do the 10:1 ratio - 10 calories to 1 protein but find it hard to do when it is a purse item.

Some of my favs for snacking on the go are protien bars - Quest is awesome (only have a nibble at a time, they are filling!), cheese strings (weather is turning so this can be added again), bread sticks and dip (not great protien but last great in a purse, turkey pepperoni (these didn't sit good with me until about one year out), hard boiled egg - this is a good one, cut up iwht a bit of salt and pepper YUM! or add a bit of greek yoghurt to the yolk (I add finely chopped pickles too) for deviled eggs without the mayo.

What I call desk snacks are easier - but some you can take out and make ahead of time. Celery and laughing cow cheese, feta stuffed peppers and ham and cream cheese rolls.

Ok, lunch tme - yum.

Beef jerkey is another great high protein snack.

Simply Protein bars that were mentioned are good, but Simply Protein also does protein chips in Chili, and in BBQ.  The bags are small and would fit in a purse. They are crunchy, spicy and satisfy that chip craving.  I buy them at Bulk Barn.  You may have to ask where they are located in the store.  I would not eat these until you are at least 6 weeks out.

Someone mentioned Beef Jerky, you can also get it in turkey and chicken I think.  I love jerky, but limit myself to once in a while as I like it too much. And I don't like the cost.  But my son loves it as much as I do, which I don't think is a bad thing.

If you are not thinking of having it "in case" but just grab and go, pepperettes (regular or turkey) are a good snack as well.  For these I get the mild as my tummy's not the best with spicey.  Depending on what you are doing, fruits are good on the run, just make sure that you try them at a calm time to make sure you can tolerate them  (I still have problems with apples and sometimes bananas).  Also, hard boiled eggs, if they won't be around long.  Those you can have sitting in your fridge.  Or have prepared veggies that you can grab and go.
