I'm sorry to hear what you had to deal with but I can completely understand, I too was a victim of the "lost in the shuffle" however, after two referrals I finally received confirmation in January 2014 (I think) then in April I had my orientation followed by all my appointments booked on the same day Nutritionist, Social Worker and Nurse that was in July.  August I had to go back to see the Social Worker and then Dr Glazier, all on the same day.  They gave me a clean slate and booked me in to see Dr Hagen (Surgeon).  Today I had my appointment with Dr Hagen and because I am a "revision" (Had the horrible stomach stapling done moons ago and been sick every day since) I will probably not be getting booked for surgery until Feb/March of 2015.  However, regular bariatric surgeries are booking for late November / December.

The whole process took about a year but it also depends on what tests they send you off for.

I wish you luck on your journey and never give up hope.  I haven't.

It is both comforting and unfortunate that others have experienced what I have.  I actually believe I am more determined given what I've experienced so far.  Thanks!

Wow. What a runaround. I'm so sorry that you had to go through all that. It's awful to hear stories about people falling through the cracks. At least you had the will to stand up for yourself and ask for information, to look around for the follow-ups, and to get the details from people to move your own process along. Regardless of how long it's taken you, at least you are this far! That speaks volumes about how determined you are to persevere and how dedicated you are to the process. For that, hats off to you! You're definitely on the right path and with that sort of determination, you WILL succeed!!!

I can't tell you anything about the process at that centre; I was through Ottawa. But I wanted to say how wonderful it is to hear that the ball is finally rolling for you and you're on your way. Kudos to you and keep us posted on how your process goes. Fingers crossed that there are no more f*ck-ups at HRRH with your file!

I certainly believe this has all been a test of my will and patience and I am more determined than ever.  I also hope I am through with mess ups.  Thank you so much for your words of encouragement...I really appreciate it!
