Two weeks post op VSG and including my Opti I've lost 49lbs!!  I've lost 23 pounds since surgery but I'm worried that after this first month is over and the loss slows down a little I will get discouraged.  I understand that it is going to slow down and I'm not expecting it not to, how did you handle the slow down or stalls?  I'm a little freaked out...

Throw the scales away and just wait until you go for your check up and than you will be surprised on what you weigh. I never weighed myself at home only at the check ups and that way i was never upset and I had no idea if I slowed down or hit the stalls.

I couldn't agree more hide the scale. I'm gonna be 4wks post op this Friday and I lost quickly for the first two weeks and I've been at a stall for just over a week now and I had to get my husband to hide the scale because I am so frustrated but I saw my dietician and RN and they say I'm doing great I've been averaging around 4.9lbs a week but that was lost the two weeks before and two weeks after surgery.

just try to stay on track and remember your body is changing even when the scale isn't. My family keeps saying wow you look smaller but the scale still sits there doing nothing even today at my follow up the scale was still stuck. And to be honest some days I have wanted to break down.

Heres to hoping you don't get a stall :)

I don't have a scale so I have no idea if I am in a stall or not.... Try to put the scale away and monitor physical changes.... For example, my wedding rings fit again and my clothes are loose.... Obviously, I am losing. And you will too. There is no way you can consume such little food and not lose.

Keep your head up and think positive. I had the sleeve as well.

I actually don't even own a scale but my parents do.  We go there Sundays for dinner and the first thing I do is run to the scale.  I'm going to try my best to not weigh myself from now on.  I have a follow up mid September at twh so I'll be like 4 ish weeks out by then.  Thanks for all the input!

49 lbs already!!!  😳 That is amazing!  I lost 30 lbs including opti and I'm 3 weeks post op.  But I still trust the process, so one day at a time. It may be slow but I'll get there. You're doing fabulously...😁

Before my surgery I wrote a list of victories I would like to see during this journey. Some of them were scale related but a good number were not. If I notice the scale not moving, I can just pull out my list and cross off a few of my accomplishments.

Things I included were:

1. getting off blood sugar meds

2. crossing my legs

3. painting my toes

4. running a 5K, 10K, etc.

5. go to Disney with my son and walk without getting winded.
