I snuck in single serving Greek yogurt and a plastic spoon, plus a bottle of water.  Walk softly and carry a big purse.

Yes, the muscles were a welcome distraction ;0)

I guess I could have brought yogurt or applesauce or something, never thought of that, maybe next time.

Good morning :)

Not sleeping in, just unmotivated. lol The Pinery is beautiful, glad you enjoyed yourself. Congrats on the loss while away!

I've had kind of a weird weekend - lazy as hell. Lots to do today (housework, cooking, garden) so I've got to get myself moving here. Have meat/veggie pasta sauce on the go so far. Have a health specialist visiting me at home tomorrow as I start my journey back to work after a long illness. It's a little stressful and weighing on my mind a little.

8 years post-op

B - coffee with cream x 3 over the morning, source greek 50 yogurt, Premier protein shake

S - ham/cheese/pickle roll-ups (3)

L - small sweet pepper stuffed with 4 oz tuna salad (I'm going through a tuna craze/crave the past few days), 1/2 slice whole grain and seeds toast with sliced tomatoes on top

S - Chike protein iced coffee

S2 - 2 oz old cheddar, 2 crackers, veggies & dip

D - 1/3 cup pasta, 2/3 cup meat/veggie sauce, grated parm

Have a great day :)

K.

Thanks. I'm sure it will. The whole going-back-to-work thing just has me a little stressed. As much as I need mental stimulation and human/professional contact it's a little intimidating trying to picture myself being at work full-time again. I know I can take it slow and ease my way back but I think I'm having difficulty imagining what my day at work would consist of if I'm only there for a couple of hours and then home. It would be like starting a project and then abruptly putting it away. Or worse, be given a "special project" in the beginning which is a pointless "busy-work" exercise.

Clearly I've got all the negatives covered. LOL!

I know it is hard going back to work after am illness but the back-to-work plan is a great idea. I can guarantee you will be tired and it will feel weird the first while back for sure but give it time and you will get there. I did a 2 week plan and it really helped me gently ease back in in full time.  Just be gentle and patient with yourself for the next while and all will be well.

I appreciate your reply very much, thank you. It is over 1.5 years since I have been at work due to illness. I work in a very high-profile, active (both physically and mostly mentally), political position. I'm sure the person who has filled my position on contract is very happy and settled in what they're doing. I'm also sure that my management and co-workers are very happy and settled in her presence. So, not only am I "upsetting the balance" in myself, I'm doing the same in my teammates. Just another stress to fret over. LOL!

I know it will go just fine and I know there is no rush or pressure to go back at this point. I just need to, personally. And deal with the (hopefully little) fall-out as it arises.

Thanks. :)

Everyone knows that the person filling your position is temporary so don't worry about that, they expect you back and probably welcome the idea of someone who is there permanently. The person *****placed me was not happy to lose her position and had a negative attitude towards me for a few weeks, then she was gone.  Other than that people were really supportive and understanding, which really surprise me because when I left things were pretty negative.  I have full confidence it you Karen, everything is going to be alright, you will see.

Having been off so long I am sure the thought of going back to work is stressful. But from what you have said you like your job. Hopefully you will be able to ease into it.
