Phone numbers

Does anyone have the phone numbers for the different hospitals that would perform the surgery?

I've been calling 416-747-3720 (ext 1). First time ( 2 months after my referal was submitted by my Dr) she said they had not received it.

The second call was about 5 weeks after the second referral went in and I have a reference/referral number. Once again she said she did not see it, but took my reference number and said she would look it up and call me back. That was 1.5 weeks ago.

I'm just wondering if I'm even calling the right number. Is this the main registry and then our referral gets sent to the individual hospital or Dr that would do the surgery??

I have a gastric band that will be removed hopefully at the same time, so I don't know if this might also hold up the referral process.

Any information would be very valuable to me and appreciated!!

I know the process is long, I just want to make sure they have my referral. I've heard so many stories of them getting lost for months and months.

From the number you've been calling it seems that you've been referred to HRRH, same as myself.  I found the following info from a previous post:

Contact the bariatric registry to get your Bariatric ID#

Provide your: Name/DOB/Address/Phone #s/ Date referral was sent

I did not have to call anyone regarding my referral but I hope the above works for you.

Hi Lyn, thanks so much for your answer to my questions.
I called that number and they said they no longer accept pt's inquiries regarding referrals.

They get in contact with the family Dr and a Bariatric  ID is give to them and they are to 

contact the pt.  Such a process to just confirm they have my referral. Once I know they have it

I can relax and wait for the other part of the process to proceed. I've been in touch with my GP and

hope they can help me.

What is the average wait time between your family doc referring you and the "Bariatric Registry" contacting for orientation?

The answering machine said it would be 3 weeks for your Dr to get the confirmation etc.  They said if they have not heard from the registry in 3 weeks the Dr's office is phone them. I left a msg today with my family Dr. Waiting to hear back from them
