Orientation Aug 6 ... In Sudbury and a question for all those who went through Sudbury
I just got back a few hours ago from orientation today in Sudbury. My referral was sent in Feb 14th and orientation July 30th. Today they were mentioning the one on ones we would be contacted in September or October but other then that i have no time line yet. I'd be interested in hearing about others time lines
As of the last year, Sudbury has added a couple of additional hospitals to the list so the wait times have improved. That said, I still believe you're looking at 6-9 months of wait time. I went through Sudbury last year at this time, and waited about 10 months (had my surgery in May), with a long delay due to taking forever to get in for some sleep apnea testing.
Hi Janet,
All my dates are in my signature. I had my follow-up appointments in November. It felt like a long wait at the time, but now I'm glad I had a year to prepare myself for the surgery.
I had heard that some people are having long waits to get their sleep test in Sudbury. If you're able to do it, considering going to the sleep centre in North Bay. All of my appointments (initial and follow-up with my machine) were booked within a week. The results take a little longer to get but the doc and staff are great. The rooms are really private and quiet - I actually slept pretty well despite the fact that I had about 5000 wires hooked up to me!
Referral: Jun. 11/13; Orientation: Jul. 24/13; SW/NP/Dietician: Nov. 2013. Sleep test Dec. 2014. Sleep apnea diagnosis Feb. 2014. 2nd sleep test Mar. 2014. Psychiatrist follow-up Mar. 2014. Approved by local centre Apr. 2014. Sleep apnea follow-up May 2014. OTN apt with Dr. Sullivan Jun. 5/14. Surgery July 7, 2014.
I had my sleep tests done at Dr. Feiges clinic in North Bay, he is great. And the rooms and staff like you said are fantastic. Also helps I live in North Bay.
I am in Toronto right now for an Endoscopy. I have my extensive blood work completed, Sleep Testing completed, Etc... All from within the year due to another condition.
