Hi, I've been lurking for quite a while but now I'm hoping that someone can help. I live in London and I am still at the early stages of the process in Windsor. I was tested for sleep apnea four years ago. I had mild sleep apnea but didn't follow through with a C-PAP. Now I need to get testing again so my Dr. made the referral. My appointment is for mid February! I called and was told that Bariatric Surgery was not a reason to have my appointment moved up. I'm willing to go outside of London to have it done. Does anyone know of somewhere around London where I can get a faster sleep study? Thanks

I can't suggest any other clinics as I'm not in the area, but I was wondering if that clinic would have a cancelation list that you could go on.  It might mean that you get called same day for an appointment, if you can work with that.  They may not be able to schedule an appointment earlier, but might be able to do this.  All you can do is ask.

I had my sleep study done in Ottawa and asked to be put on the cancelation list, and was in in less than a week.  If your clinic has one, I can't promise getting in that quick.

Hello,

I had a sleep study done in Sarnia years ago and in London last year for my WLS.  I have to say that I am completely disappointed in the clinic that I went to in London.  If I ever have a need to go for another study, I won't be going there.  I know that there is a clinic in Sarnia and there is a clinic in Woodstock.  Might be worth looking into.

Good luck! :)

Come to St.Thomas!!!! I got

in within a month of my referral. It takes a few weeks for the results (unless it's sever) but the process seems pretty quick to me!!!! Plus it's only a half hour drive for you!!!

Have your family doctor refer you to Dr. Soparker. He works out of Sanria but runs a clinic here in London in cherry hill once a week. He can be reached at the bluewater sleep clinic in Sarnia. My doctor refered me, I was in about 3 weeks later, and had my test later that week. I set this appointment myself and it went way faster!!

I also had had my endoscopy at the scoping Center on Wellington. Again, had an appointment within a couple of weeks.

good luck!!

The sleep clinic across the street from TWH called me on Thurs to book an appointment and actually had one that night or a few different slots this week. I didn't take to appointment but I'm sure someone who has gone through TWH can advise the name of the clinic.

There is a place in London right near St Joe's hospital that can hook you up with a machine and send you home so you can sleep at home.  I was hooked up for 60 hours and just had the machine on a belt around my waist or wore it around my neck.  For the first night, I had an oxygen sensor taped to my finger but was able to take that off the next morning.  The monitor could be unhooked for showering and then hooked back up.  I just finished and need to return the machine to the clinic tomorrow.  My doctor wrote a referral to this location when I told her that I was having a hard time thinking that I would have a normal sleep knowing that there would be people watching me.  I just showed up there with the referral and they will send the results to my doctor in approximately 4 days after I return the machine.

Here is the info:  London Sleep Apnea & Holter, 829 Richmond St., London, ON 519-601-5565  londonsleepapnea.com  You can print the referral form off their website for your doctor to fill out.

Good luck.

I had mine done through the sleep disorders clinic in Hamilton. Dr Gotschuck....they have a satellite clinic at Cambridge Memorial  Hospital. I was in and out and completely all set up in less than 2 months...I am going to see him today for a follow up...I got my machine in June....I wore it for about a month and then the mask was causing break outs around my cheeks...errrr...just what I needed...a chubby face + pimples...NOT...so I am going to see if I can get another mask.

This waiting process is hard...Good Luck
