WLS contributing to eye sight changes...?
Certain vitamin deficiencies (as Dawn mentioned but more too) can contribute to vision changes. I attributed my need for TRI-focals (good gawd help me) to being over 40. This also means something, but I also know it's kind of sped up in the last couple of years, that I wasn't expecting. (Nor was my opthamologist). It's something to keep an eye on (ha, no pun intended). I wouldn't hesitate to go to an appointment - if it hasn't drastically changed needing a new prescription, I'd do labs and then go back in 6 months and get the appropriate lens prescription.

Thanks everyone! I've never been diabetic but my eyesight has been wonky. Went from near sighted to far sighted within a year (this was long before surgery though). My optometrist thought I was diabetic because of how weird my sight was changing! It's been 2 months, I may wait another few since my face shape may change. I do have a pin head and didn't have a big face, but I'm sure it will shrink a bit.
Thanks again everyone!
A pin head? HAHAHA!

Vitamin A being low can cause problems. I am and during my follow up appointments I've been asked how my night vision is. While I have noticed some changes, I don't know if it's just my normal issues or the Vit A as I'm not too deficient. I was told by a couple of doctors I see that the Vit A likely not being absorbed well because of the lack of fat in my diet. Who knows!

I had no vision issues at all before surgery, didn't even need reading glasses. I still don't need reading glasses but a few years post op all of a sudden my distance vision got terrible and I need glasses for seeing distances but not for reading. My optometrist cannot believe that I still don't need reading glasses at 48 yet my distance has gone from normal to what it is now. No idea if it has anything to do with WLS or not but it all happened after mine so who knows. He says it's very unusual to have the distance one go so fast. I am due for an eye exam and I know for sure my prescription is going to be increased again as I am blind as **** even wearing my glasses. All my labs are good so it's a mystery as to what is causing it.
