Afternoon all! I love to read these posts. I'm too happy and content with my food routine so hearing how other people mix it up is great for me!

Question - I remember reading but can't find it again about the Chike Protein - can someone refresh my memory on the details about it? I have 1 coffee a day, but this sounds interesting!

11 months Post-Op

B - mix of 1/4 cup all bran and smart bran, 1/2 scoop protein powder, just enough 1% milk to mix it all (I'm in desperate need of more fiber in my life!)

S - coffee through the morning and 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt & some blueberries

L - 1/2 Great Low Carb Bagel w/1tbs nuts n'more peanut butter & 1tbs no sugar added jam

S - turkey peppertte, 1 small cheese square

D - not sure yet!

S - fruit or something like it

Hi! Glad to see you posting on the thread - I get lots of good ideas from other folks here for sure. Don't know if you're aware of the Ontario Recipes forum? The link to it is in my signature below - SO many great recipes there.

I am an admitted coffee addict, so a coffee protein shake is a true love of mine recently. I adore the Chike protein iced coffee - 20g of protein and other good stuff. At 8 years post-op I'm able to get most (all) of my protein requirements from food BUT... I still like a boost of protein daily. You can visit the Chike site to learn more - http://chikenutrition.com/ - you'll have to place an order via telephone as their online form doesn't recognize Canadian addresses (they have a toll-free number). The shipping is about $15, which allows up to 4 pounds of product.

Karen :)

P.S. No I don't work for Chike, but I could! lol

Thanks!! Do you know if they sell it in stores in the states? I'm going down for a few weeks of vacation and think it might be a great add on to bring back (along with some Strawberry Premier protein shakes!)

I am still in the thinking stage of having surgery and have been reading the posts.  One thing I have noticed for meals nobody is having pork (chops or ham) or beef (roast or steak) just wondering is it personal choice or can you not eat it?  Thanks

I eat both with no issues. Pork - chops, tenderloin, ham, bacon, sausages. Beef - steak, roast, ground, anything but the liver. lol

I tend not to eat a whole bunch of pork, simply because it's not my favourite AND I find it rich and harder to digest, but I did before my surgery as well. As for beef steaks or roast beef - I'd eat filet mignon every night if I could afford it. ;)

I am 8 1/2 years post-op, so that's something to consider as well. I've had a lot of years to adjust to eating and everything goes down really well. Any DRY meat is a no-go for me, even now. Meats must be moist or they will (painfully) come right back atcha.

Good question. :)

Karen

Edited to add: You'll have to read quite a few days worth of the "what are you eating" thread to get a better idea of what people are eating.
